PESHAWAR (92 News) – A judicial magistrate in Peshawar has given two-day physical remand of arrested three Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) policemen who tortured and beat up a man in Peshawar for abusing them on social media. According to the details garnered, three policemen were arrested and booked for assault and other charges after a video showing them abusing and removing his clothes at a police station in Peshawar went viral on social media. Meanwhile, the people protested against police torture on Amir Tehkale and the protesters removed a police armored vehicle parked in Assembly Chowk. On the other hand, Awami National Party (ANP) provincial president Aimal Wali Khan demanded judicial inquiry into the police torture on a young man in Tehkal village. He said that the police tortured a youth at a police station and then filmed his video while he was stripped naked. The video is viral on social media. The ANP leader said that his party would not accept any internal investigation and vowed to file a case for provision of justice through the ANP-affiliated lawyers Malgari Wakeelan. He rejected suspension of four cops involved in the incident, saying that police would not take action against their brethren.
