KP to present Rs979 billion surplus budget

PESHAWAR (92 News) - The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) surplus budget of Rs979 billion for next fiscal year, 2020-21, will be presented in the provincial assembly today (Friday). According to the notification, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly has been summoned to meet at 03:00 pm today for the budget session. Provincial Finance Minister Taimur Saleem Jhagra will present the budget in the House. The provincial authorities have said that no new tax will be imposed this whereas Rs317 billion has been reserved for development projects, Rs30 billion for education and Rs24 billion for health. Rs56 billion will be received from the provincial revenue, while 25 billion will be get from net profit of electricity and Rs10 billion will be received from profit arrears. Expenditure on settled areas will be estimated at Rs 488 billion, while merge districts will cost Rs86 billion. Meanwhile, the Balochistan governor convened a budget meeting of the provincial assembly on June 20 and the budget will likely to exceed 400 billion.
