July 9, 2019
LAHORE (92 News) – A family court in Lahore on Tuesday issued arrest warrants for Fiza Batool – daughter of former prime minister Yusuf Raza Gilani. The court issued arrests warrants on a complaint that she had refused meeting of her son with her ex-husband Khurram Khan. Family court judge Akhtar Hussain heard the case on a complaint filed by Khurram Khan who maintained that Batool, despite orders of the court, had denied meeting of her son with him. The court also ordered meeting of her son with him in the next hearing. The couple separated in the year 2009. Earlier on Jul 21 2016, a family court issued bailable arrest warrants of Fiza Batool Gilani for not appearing before court despite being summoned. Judge Shazia Mukhdoom passed these orders on an application filed by Khurram Khan, ex-husband of Fiza Batool. The petitioner had filed an application submitting that his former wife was not allowing him to meet the son. He requested the court to let him visit his son, and ensure his former spouse follows the law. The court summoned the respondent many times but she failed to appear.
