Lahore gang-rape case: Victim woman and her daughter record their statement

LAHORE (92 News) – A woman and her daughter, who were raped by a rickshaw driver and his friend in Lahore's Chung area a few days back, recorded their statement to the police on Thursday.

In their statement, they said that they were ready to sacrifice their lives to protect the chastity of each other. "At 11pm on August 22, we reached Lahore from Mailsi to meet our sister. We had visited Lahore for second time and did not know about the places," they said.

The victims said that they disembarked from the bus at Thokar Niaz Baig and settled the fare of Rs 300 for Sadr area with the rickshaw driver who also took his friend with them. "The rickshaw driver and his friend took us to a deserted place and raped us at gunpoint," they narrated.

The girl said that she had beseeched the accused to spare her mother who is a heart patient, but the accused did not listened to her. The mother folded her hands and requested the accused not to rape her daughter.

They said that in the meantime, one car rider Abbas reached there and the accused fled on seeing her. "Abbas immediately informed the police who shifted us to hospital," they said.

Both the accused are in jail on seven-day remand.
