Lahore will be country's second planned after Islamabad: Punjab CM Buzdar

LAHORE (92 News) – Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, while addressing foundation stone laying ceremony of Ravi River Front Urban Development Project, has said that authority has been formulated for this project. He said that after Islamabad it will be the second planned city of Pakistan. "Three barrages will be constructed for storing 585,000 cusec water. Storage of water will improve the level of underground water in Lahore. Setting up of lake will also help to improve the ecosystem," he maintained. The chief minister said that green zones would be established for dealing with hydro and environmental pollution according to the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan. "Six million plants will be planted. 1.8 million residential units in Ravi River Front Urban Development Project will provide modern residential facilities to the people," he said. Usman Buzdar said that Ravi River Front Urban Development Project authority’s Act has been passed. "Chairman of the authority has been appointed and board of the authority has been completed." He said that it is a mega project in the history of Pakistan. "This project is a challenge which has been accepted by the PTI government under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan." The chief minister said that no former governments have dared to accept this challenge. "No one will be allowed to create hurdle in this project. This project is accelerated the economic activities besides creating new job opportunities and promoting local industry," he concluded.
