Last day for biometric verification of SIMS

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Sunday, April 12 will be the last day for biometric verification of SIMs across the country, after which millions of SIMs are expected to be blocked. Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) had set April 12 as the deadline for the verification for the second time, as millions remained unverified after its first deadline ended last month. The PTA was ordered by the interior ministry to biometrically authenticate all SIM holders after the December 16 Peshawar school attack in which unverified SIMs were used by terrorists to communicate with their leaders in Afghanistan.
