Law enforcement agencies to conduct search operation in Azizabad

KARACHI (92 News) – The law enforcement agencies have come in action after arms were recovered from an empty house of Azizabad, Karachi. A decision to search all abandoned houses of the area has been taken. According to Rangers sources, all the houses which have not been in use for more than a year will be searched completely and their details will be sorted out. Taking assistance from dwellers of the area in this regard is also being considered. Moreover, the list recovered by Scotland Yard and arms shipment seized from Azizabad showed resemblance. According to details, the police department of Britain had recovered a list of weapons from the house of a Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader in June last year. The number of most of the arms, including sniper rifles, rocket grenades, machine guns, is according to the list. The law enforcement agencies on Wednesday foiled a terror plot in Karachi by recovering huge cache of weapons and explosive material during a raid in Azizabad area. As per details, police carried out an intelligence-based raid at an abandoned house in Azizabad area near MQM headquarters Nine-Zero. The seized weapons included anti-aircraft guns, anti-tank mine, Kalashnikov, 9mm, LMG, SMGs and other explosives. The weapons were concealed in the water tank of the house. The weapons were likely to be used for terrorism in the city.
