Law will come into force if code of conduct violated, Ijaz warns JUI-F
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Responding to the Azadi March of JUI-F, Interior Minister Ijaz Shah has warned on Thursday that it’s not a Banana Republic, the law will come into force if the code of conduct violated by the marchers in Islamabad.
He said while addressing a press conference in Islamabad along with Special Assistant on Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan. The minister said that the government will fully facilitate the protest March of JUI-F and will not create any hurdles in its way.
He said on the instructions of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the protestors from the four provinces have fully been facilitated. “We provided them water, electricity and a traffic plan on their way to Islamabad so that reach the federal capital without any untoward incident,” he mentioned.
The minister assured to provide fully security to the protestors. He said the protest place at H-9 has been cleared of all the shrubs and bushes, and water and electricity have been provided there. Places of latrine and hotels have also been marked there.
Ijaz Shah said it is the first time in the country's history that a sitting prime minister has given a go ahead to a protest march of any opposition party. He said those wanted to fire from the shoulders of Maulana Fazlur Rehman and create anarchy in the country have failed in their designs due to the government's decision of not stopping the protestors.
The minister further said that during negotiations the only point of discussion was the venue of the protest. The marchers, he said, demanded that the government let them enter D Chowk, “We said that it not possible.”
Ijaz Shah maintained that the JUI-F will have to abide by the judgments of Supreme Court judge Qazi Faez Isa and the Islamabad High Court regarding the sit-in. He said Maulana Fazl was allowed to march but he should respect the court decisions too.
