LG polls schedule changed in Punjab, Sindh keeping in view Muharram

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday has changed the schedule for the local government elections in Punjab and Sindh keeping in view Muharram. In the first phase, polling will be held on October 31, while the second and third phase will be held on November 19 and December 3 The Punjab chief secretary has said that 1st Muharram falls on October 12 and provision of security will be a big problem. Sources said that the Punjab chief secretary had met the Election Commission of Pakistan secretary and asked him not to issue the schedule.
