LAHORE (92 News) – The Lahore High Court (LHC) adjourned the high treason case against former dictator Pervez Musharraf till December 17. Justice Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi remarked that the court should be informed where the Article 6 is applied. “Whether imposition of the emergency and breaking the law are not two different things?” he queried. The court remarked that the created super structure was wrong. Earlier, the additional attorney general submitted the case record to court. Counsel for Pervez Musharraf stated that the case was started on the order of then prime minister Nawaz Sharif whose government was toppled by him in 1999. “A personal vendetta was involved in initiating the case against Pervez Musharraf,” he stated. The court questioned whether the matter was presented before the Senate and the National Assembly. At this, the counsel replied that the matter was not discussed in the parliament. “Can the federal government not withdraw the complaint?” the court questioned. The court ruled that the matter is emergency, not violation of the constitution.
