LHC again adjourns bail plea hearing of Maryam Nawaz till tomorrow

LAHORE (92 News) – The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday again adjourned the bail plea hearing of Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz in Chaudhry Sugar Mills case till tomorrow due to the absence of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor. A two member bench of the LHC headed by Justice Baqir Najfi heard the bail plea of Maryam Nawaz. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) submitted reply with as per clause over the case. An official of the anti-corruption watchdog told the court that Bharwana is unable to appear in the hearing as he is currently present in Islamabad. Later, the court adjourned the hearing until Wednesday (tomorrow). The petition was filed by filed by Amjad Pervez and Azam Nazeer. In the petition, Maryam has pleaded with the court to release her on bail as her father is unwell and undergoing medical treatment at Lahore’s Services Hospital. The PML-N leader also adopted a stance that she has to take care of her farther and her presence with ailing father is necessary. in he previous hearing, Maryam’s lawyer argued that the NAB has completed its investigation from her and now she is on judicial remand. On reply, the court remarked that read the reply of NAB and then argue on the point. Earlier, PM Imran Khan has allowed Maryam Nawaz to stay with her ailing father Nawaz Sharif in Services Hospital. She has been granted permission to stay with her father on humanitarian grounds. The Punjab government has been informed about the decision made by the prime minister. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan phoned Punjab Governor Ch Sarwar and directed him to ensure healthcare facilities to Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz.
