LAHORE (92 News) – The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday allowed joint opposition parties led by Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) to hold protest at The Mall Road till midnight. The court while conditionally allowing the opposition to hold protest ordered media to give coverage to the protest till midnight. A three-member bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) had earlier reserved verdict on the petitions against the joint opposition protest led-by Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), which is scheduled to take place on Mall Road today. A full bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) headed by Justice Aminuddin Khan and comprising Justice Shahid Jamil Khan and Justice Shahid Karim Khan heard the petition. In today’s proceedings, the Punjab government presented its report on the protest in court. Punjab Advocate General (AG) Shakeelur Rehman told the court that the organizers of the protest have been informed of the security threats. Earlier, the petitioner stated in his plea that The Mall Road is an economic hub and the protest will hinder livelihoods of people. The petitioner further stated that Nasir Bagh should be considered as the alternate venue for the protest.
