LAHORE (92 News) – LHC Appellate Tribunal Judge Faisal Zaman Khan nullified the decision of the returning officers and allowed PTI chairman Imran Khan to contest from NA-131 Lahore and NA-95 Mianwali. The court announced the reserved verdict and dismissed appeals against the nomination papers of Imran Khan, terming them not maintainable. “The RO while rejecting the PTI chairman’s nomination papers alleged that the affidavit was not submitted on time and that the worth of all of his assets was not mentioned,” Awan further said. Imran’s counsel requested the tribunal to declare the RO’s decision null and void. Jahandad Khan advocate told the court that the oath commissioner had not attested Imran’s affidavit. “Imran’s signatures are different on every page,” Jahandad further stated. Mudassar Chaudhry advocate and Jahangir Dogar had filed petitions against the acceptance of the nomination papers of Imran Khan. Meanwhile, the appellate tribunal dismissed the appeal of PML-N’s Sardar Ayaz Sadiq against PTI candidate Aleem Khan. Ayaz Sadiq had challenged the nomination papers of his rival candidate Abdul Aleem Khan. On Saturday, the appellate tribunal issued a notice to the returning officer and other parties after Imran’s nomination papers were rejected from NA-95 Mianwali constituency. The PTI chairman had submitted nominations from National Assembly constituencies in Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Bannu and Mianwali.
