LHC issues notices to all parties on Rana Sanaullah’s bail plea

LAHORE (92 News) – The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday issued notices to all the parties on bail plea of former Punjab law minister and Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) Rana Sanaullah. Justice Chaudhry Mushtaq Ahmed of the high court heard bail plea of Rana Sanaullah in narcotics smuggling case. In the bail plea, the ANF’s investigation officer has been made as party. In his bail plea, Rana Sanaullah said that he was caught up in a false case of drugs smuggling as he used to criticize the government. He adopted a stance that he he was booked for smuggling of 21 KG heroin in the FIR, while later the weight of the captured narcotics was declared 15 kilograms. He pleaded to the court for his release on bail in drugs case. The bench issued notices to the ANF and other parties over the bail plea of Rana Sanaullah and adjourned the hearing till December 04. Earlier, an ANF court extended the judicial remand of PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah in a drugs recovery case for 14 days . The court ordered to again produce Rana Sanaullah on November 30. He was produced before the court in connection with his alleged involvement in the narcotics smuggling case. On July 1, the ANF Lahore had arrested PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah near Sukheke. He was shifted to ANF Cantonment Office for interrogation. His medical examination was conducted in the ANF custody. ANF Commander Brig Khalid Mahmood supervised the arrest. Sources said that Rana Sanaullah had left Faisalabad for Lahore at 1pm and the contact with him was made last time near Sukheke. “A huge quantity of contrabands was also recovered from the vehicle of Rana Sanaullah. Its quantity could be up to 15kg,” they said.
