LAHORE (92 News) – A two-member bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued notices to the federal government and Customs Intelligence on the bail plea of model Ayyan Ali, seeking reply in the currency smuggling case.
Justice Anwaarul Haq and Arshad Mahmood Tabbasum heard the bail plea.
Counsel for Ayyan Ali contended that the Customs authorities arrested his client from the place which does not come under the passenger category.
“Moreover, she had not made her boarding card for going to Dubai,” he said.
The counsel said that every citizen does not know the State Bank of Pakistan’s circular with regard to the currency smuggling.
“According to the Customs Act, the accused may be granted bail if she is a woman and there is no need to investigate her further,” he contended.
