LHC moved against NAB Amendment Ordinance 2021

LAHORE (92 News) – A petition was filed against the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Saturday.

Ishtiaq Chaudhary advocate, the petitioner, contended that the term of NAB Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal cannot be extended. "An ordinance cannot be promulgated for a single person," he maintained.

He said that the ordinance is in clash with the verdicts of the apex courts. "The NAB chairman cannot be granted extension as per law. Only the parliament has the right to legislate," he stated.  

The petitioner prayed to the court to stay the implementation of the NAB Amendment Ordinance till the verdict on his plea. He also appealed to court to declare the ordinance null and void.
