MULTAN (92 News) – The Lahore High Court Multan Bench on Wednesday ordered to stop the promotion of Sardar Umar Daraz, brother of Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, in the Border Military Police. The court also sought a reply from the Dera Ghazi Khan commissioner for promoting Umar Daraz to the rank of Rasaldar in the Border Military Police. Bashir Ahmed Chohan, the petitioner, contended that no officer had been promoted in Border Military Police for the last 20 years. He stated that Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar had created two posts of ‘Rasaldar’ just for promoting his brother. “The condition of education was also relaxed to give the post to the brother of the Punjab chief minister,” he added. He contended that the post of Rasaldar was not approved for any tribe, but Additional Chief Secretary Ijaz Jaffar, uncle of Sardar Usman Buzdar, reserved the seats for two tribes – Hazara and Leghari. The petitioner said that the cases of all departments of the Border Military Police should be considered by the Departmental Promotion Committee.
