LAHORE (92 News) The Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered the Lahore deputy commissioner to decide on the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) request for a rally at Minar-e-Pakistan by 5pm today.

A three-member full court, comprising Justice Farooq Haider, heard the PTI’s petition seeking permission for the rally at Minar-e-Pakistan. The Punjab chief secretary and inspector general of police (IGP) appeared in the court.

The Advocate General Punjab did not appear before the court. The government’s lawyer said that the Advocate General Punjab was busy in the Supreme Court when the full court inquired about his absence.

The Punjab government’s lawyer opposed the requests of the PTI, saying that Aliya Hamza and Imtiaz Sheikh have not written any letter for the permission of the rally, and the request of Aliya Hamza should be rejected as inadmissible.

However, the court directed Aliya Hamza to immediately submit the request for the permission of the rally to the Lahore deputy commissioner, after which the court disposed of the petition filed for the permission of the rally.
