LHC orders release of Zakiur Rahman Lakhvi

LAHORE (92 News) – Justice Anwaarul Haq of the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday ordered to release Zakiur Rahman Lakhvi. Lakhvi had challenged his detention. The defence counsel contended that detention orders for a citizen could not be issued fourth time without the Review Board. He said that the government has extended his client’s detention fourth time, which is in clash with the constitution. He appealed to the court to annul the detention of Zakiur Rahman Lakhvi. The court suspended the detention order and ordered the release of Zakiur Rahman Lakhvi after furnishing surety bonds worth Rs 500,000.
