LHC orders to announce ephedrine verdict against Hanif on July 21

RAWALPINDI (92 News) – The Lahore High Court's (LHC) Rawalpindi Bench ordered on Wednesday that the verdict in ephedrine case against Pakistan Muslim League-N leader Hanif Abbasi will be announced on July 21. A bench headed by Justice Abdul Rehman Lodhi heard narcotics smuggling trial against Hanif Abbasi case. LHC Justice Abdul Rehman Lodhi asked that why the ANF director general did not appear before the court. He also questioned that what was reason behind to adjourn the case till August 20. The justice also directed that daily proceedings in the case take place from July 16 onwards. Abbasi, who is contesting the upcoming election from NA-60, Rawalpindi, faces charges of misusing 500kg of the controlled chemical ephedrine which he obtained for his company, Gray Pharmaceutical, in 2010.
