LHC orders to extend vacations in schools, colleges for a week due to smog

LAHORE (92 News) - The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday ordered to extend the vacations in schools and colleges for a week due to smog.

Hearing the plea to control the worsening smog and spread of environmental pollution, Justice Shahid Karim observed that people will have to change their lifestyle to eliminate smog. "The court is doing all this for the people who should sleep early to end smog," he ruled.

The court also sought a notification regarding extension in the vacations.

Moreover, the court allowed the theatres to open till 11:30pm, withdrawing the notice of their closure at 8pm.

Later, the court adjourned the hearing till January 2.
