LAHORE (92 News) – Justice Mamoonur Rashid of the Lahore High Court stayed the demolition of the boundary wall of Governor House on Monday. The court ordered not to remove a single brick until its order and warned that the violators will not be spared. The court also sought a reply from the federal government. “How much wall has been demolished? How the boundary wall is not part of the historical building. Can the boundary wall of the Shahi Fort demolished by terming it a wall?” he questioned. The petitioner’s counsel stated that the wall is being demolished from Kashmir Road. “Under the law, the Governor House has impunity,” he stated. He contended that demolition of the Governor House’s boundary wall is illegal. Earlier on Monday, the demolition of the boundary wall was under way under instructions from Prime Minister Imran Khan.
