LHC stops Ravi River Urban Project, links it to approval of Environment Protection Dept

LAHORE (92 News) – Justice Shahid Karim of the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Saturday stopped the Ravi River Urban Project and linked to the approval of the Environment Protection Department.

The court ruled that the project should not be started without environment impact assessment. "The project should be started with complete review of the Environment Protection Department," he said.

The Punjab government representative told court that a report had been sought from Environment Protection Department.

Under the Naya Pakistan Project, the federal government has started Ravi River Urban Project.
