LAHORE (92 News) - The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday suspended the Election Commission of Pakistan's (ECP) order to de-notify 43 MNAs belonging to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Justice Shahid Karim of the LHC heard the plea of MNA Riaz Fatyana and others.

Moreover, the LHC also stopped the ECP from holding the by-elections till further order. The ECP issued notices to the ECP and other parties.

Barrister Ali Zafar said that the 43 MNAs could go to the parliament after the court verdict.

Reacting to the court verdict, PTI leader Asad Umar said that the membership of 43 PTI MNAs has been restored. "The court has suspended the speaker's decision made on political basis," he added.

PTI leader Fawad Chaudhary said that the speaker should take care of democracy a little bit. "He should issue a notification to change the leader of the opposition. It is not good parliamentary tradition to move court for everything," he maintained.
