LAHORE (92 News) – The Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) has demanded Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif resign over the Panama Leaks verdict.

Addressing a press conference with other office-bearers on Saturday, LHCBA president Ch Zulfiqar Ali announced to launch a movement bigger than the movement for judiciary restoration if the prime minister did not resign in a week.

“It is the only verdict in which all the five judges are agreed at one point,” he said.

The LHCBA president said that resignations were tendered across the world over the Panama issue, but the prime minister showed stubbornness.

He claimed that the resignation demand is justified as PM’s subordinate could not hold impartial investigations.

“In addition to the lawyers’ convention, the All Parties Conference will also be summoned in which future course of action will be decided,” he said.

LHCBA vice-president Rashid Lodhi said that corruption became the topic of the Supreme Court first time.

“The SC raised serious questions over the money trail, which cannot be ignored. The court rejected the stance of the prime minister. Now the prime minister has lost moral justification to hold his portfolio,” he maintained.
