LNG contracts: NAB approves inquiry against Nawaz Sharif, Khaqan

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – National Accountability Beareu (NAB) has approved inquiry against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, former petroleum minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in granting contract of LNG terminal for 15 years to their favourite company. NAB Chairman Justice (r) Javed Iqbal chaired a executive board meeting in Islamabad today. In the meeting, the NAB aprroved inquiry against Nawaz Sharif, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and others in granting contract of LNG terminal for 15 years to their favourite company. It was also observed that this contract had caused loss of billions of rupees to the national exchquer. The meeting also approved investigation against former Sindh chief minister, former Culture and Tourism secretary and others in giving contracts against the rules, causing a loss of 127 million rupees to the national exchequer. It also approved inquires against former Punjab chief minister, relevant secretaries, MPA from Chiniot and the administration of Ramzan Sugar Mills Chiniot. They are alleged to have caused a huge loss to the national exchequer. Executive Board Meeting of the NAB also approved to launch corruption reference against former Chairman Karachi Port Trust retired Vice Admiral Ahmad Hayat, and former General Manager KPT retired Brigadier Syed Jamshed Zaidi. Addressing the meeting, the NAB chairman directed to make scrutiny, inquiries and investigations of all complaints to their logical conclusion on the basis of law, merit, transparency and solid evidence.
