KHANEWAL (92 News) – The locust attack has destroyed crops on a large scale in Khanewal, Muzaffargarh and Alipur. Swarms of locusts also entered Kabirwala and destroyed several crops and orchards. Locusts also attacked different areas of Jhang, including Sial and Shorkot and started destroying crops. Farmers are spraying insecticides on self-help basis. In Bahawalpur, locusts have badly damaged the cotton crop. The NDMA spokesman said that sprayers and medicines had been dispatched to the affected provinces. “350,000 litres of medicines have been provided to the provinces to eradicate locusts,” he said.
