RAWALPINDI (92 News) Lieutenant General Asim Malik will assume the charge as the Director General (DG) of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) on Monday (today).
He will replace Lt Gen Nadeem Anjum who was appointed as the DG ISI in 2021 by the then-prime minister Imran Khan.
Len Gen Asim Malik got commission in the Pakistan Army in September 1988, and he is currently serving as the Adjutant General at the General Headquarters (GHQ).
He has previously commanded the Infantry Division in Balochistan and the Infantry Brigade in Waziristan.

He was also posted as the Chief Instructor at the National Defence University (NDU) and as an Instructor at the Command and Staff College Quetta.
He also headed Corps V in Karachi, commanded a brigade in Kurram Agency, led Frontier Corps (North) in Balochistan, and served as Commandant of Command and Staff College Quetta before becoming Karachi Corps Commander in December 2020.
In October 2021, Asim Malik was promoted to the rank of lieutenant general and appointed as the army’s adjutant general.
He also received the sword of honour in his course. He is also a graduate of Fort Leavenworth and the Royal College of Defence Studies.
