RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Lieutenant General Naveed Mukhtar has been appointed new Director General Inter Service Intelligence (ISI) of Pakistan (DG ISI). Lieutenant General Naveed Mukhtar was commissioned in the Armored Corps regiment in 1983. He graduated from the Command and Staff College Quetta, National Defense University, Islamabad and War Course USA. He previously served as DG CT in ISI and commander of 26 mechanized Division in Bahawalpur. He joined the Army in 68 PMA. He grew his ranks till Major with 13 Lancers. Then he commanded 22 Cavalry. He is from the armored corps. As part of the postings and transfers, Pakistan Army had announced major changes in the military.   army In a statement issued by the ISPR, Lt General Bilal Akbar has been appointed Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Rizwan Akhtar, presently DG ISI, as President National Defense University, Lt. General Nazir Butt, presently President NDU, as Corps Commander Peshawar, Lt. General Hidayat ur Rehman, presently Corps Commander Peshawar, as Inspector General Training and Evaluation at GHQ, Lt. General Asim Salim Bajwa, presently DG ISPR, as Inspector General Arms at GHQ, Lt. General Hamayun Aziz as Inspector General C&IT at GHQ, and Lt. General Qazi Ikram as Chief of Logistic Staff at GHQ. And, Lt. General Sher Afgun has been posted as Corps Commander Bahawalpur and Lt. General Naeem Ashraf appointed as Chairman Heavy Industries Taxila.  Lt. General Muhammad Afzal will continue working as DG FWO.
