ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Thursday said that the mafias considered themselves above the law and no one is above law and all corrupt mafias to face the law.

Addressing the groundbreaking ceremony of 103 kilometer long Naukundi-Mashkhel road, the prime minister reiterated his resolve that he and his government would not bow down before corrupt mafia and would not grant a reprieve to anyone.

“Mafias blackmail govt to get NRO or any other relief as they think that they are above the law. My goal is to bring the powerful under the rule of law and reduce poverty but the mafia wants to blackmail them that if they do not give NRO, they will overthrow the government,” Imran Khan mentioned.

PM Khan maintained that developed countries had made progress due to supremacy of law, adding that no society can survive without a rule of law. "There was rule of power in the country in the past instead of rule of law, adding that the PTI government is fighting a war of law," he added.

PTI govt focusing on backward areas

The premier said that no one has focused on Naukundi-Mashkhel in the past 70 years and the PTI government is focusing on backward areas. He said that the road will benefit people of the area. He said that Balochistan lags far behind.

The prime minister said that the PTI inherited the economic crisis from the previous government and the country would have become defaulter if the government hadn’t paid the loan installments.

Imran Khan further said that the first year of his government passed to stablise country’s economy, while the second year of PTI government went into to curb coronavirus pandemic. “We have saved the country’s economy and the people from novel coronavirus,” he added.
