LAHORE (92 News) – In a key progress in the motorway gang-rape case, police have recorded the initial statement of the wife of main suspect Abid Malhi – who is still at large after eight day of the incident. Bushra Bibi, Abid Ali’s wife, said that Abid was worried when he returned home after the incident and fled when he was identified. She also left her daughter at home and went to her parents. She also mentioned that she is not aware of her husband’s current location. "Abid didn't come home for many days, if she asked, he would torture me," she explained. Police had arrested Bushra Bibi – a resident of tehsil Tandlianwala, district Faisalabad – today. She performed second marriage with the suspect and has four children from her first marriage and one daughter with Abid. Bushra Bibi and Abid had escaped when the authorities made an attempt to arrest the accused in Sheikhupura. Their daughter is in police custody after the parents abandoned her while escaping police.
