Major among three soldiers martyred, a terrorist killed in two operations

RAWALPINDI (92 News) - A major and sepoy of Pakistan Army on Friday embraced martyrdom after fighting gallantly amid an intense exchange of fire during an intelligence-based operation conducted by the security forces on reported presence of terrorists, in general area Miran Shah, North Waziristan District.

According to a press release issued by the ISPR, a party of terrorists was spotted and intercepted by Major Amir Aziz, who was leading the operation from front during conduct of the operation, whereas resultantly one terrorist was sent to hell while another was injured.

The martyrs were identified as Major Amir Aziz (age 29 years, a resident of Sargodha District) and Sepoy Muhammad Arif (age 27 years, a resident of Sahiwal District) who having fought gallantly, embraced martyrdom, during heavy exchange of fire. Sanitization of the area is being carried out to eliminate the terrorists present in the area.

Meanwhile, a soldier of Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom while thwarting terrorists attack in general area of Tirah, Khyber District in the early hours of Friday.

A fire exchange took place between the Army troops and terrorists in general area Tirah, Khyber District. The Army troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location, resulting in killing of one terrorist who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against the security forces and killing of innocent civilians.

During intense exchange of fire, Havildar Muntazir Shah (age 36 years, a resident of Sawabi District) having fought gallantly, embraced martyrdom. Sanitization of the area is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area.
