Major power breakdown paralyses life in different cities

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – People faced numerous problems when several grid stations tripped in different cities across the country. Owing to the power outage, acute shortage of water was observed in Islamabad, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Sargodha and Gujrat. The system of GEPCO, FESCO and MEPCO were badly affected by the breakdown. It took three hours to rectify the technical fault. Soon after its restoration, the NTDC’s 220KV grid stations tripped in Kala Shah Kaku. The authorities made announcements from mosques, claiming to restore electricity as early as possible. Severe power was observed in Jalalpur Pirwala, Shujaabad and other adjacent areas.
