Major power breakdown struck Karachi

JAMSHORO (92 News) – A major power breakdown hit Karachi after a high-tension 500KV backup power line near Jamshoro tripped in the wee hours of Friday, plunging 70 percent of the city into darkness.

According to K-Electric spokesman, the power breakdown occurred due to technical fault and efforts are underway to rectify the fault.

“The electricity would be restored in the next 5 to 6 hours,” the spokesman said.
