Major reshuffle of Pak ambassadors likely

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – In a major diplomatic reshuffle, Pakistan has on Thursday decided to reshuffle ambassadors of different countries including Turkey, India, South Africa and Brazil.

Sources said that Additional Secretary Admin Iftikhar Aziz will appointed Pakistan’s Ambassador to Turkey, while Pakistan’s Ambassador to Turkey Sohail Mehmood will be appointed as High Commissioner to India replacing Abdul Basit, who has completed his three-year tenure.

Ambassador to Denmark Masroor Ahmad Junejo also going to retire in June and Additional Secretary Asia Pacific Zulfiqar Gardezi will replace him.

Sources said that Dr Sohail Khan, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Thailand will be appointed as ambassador to South Africa, while Najamul Saqib, Ambassador to South Africa would be sent to Brazil.

Burhanul Islam, envoy to Barazil will also be retiring this year.
