Making India NSG member would be biased: DG ISPR Lt Gen Asim Bajwa

BERLIN (92 News) – Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lieutenant General Asim Bajwa has on Thursday said that Pakistan’s defense system is based on threat from India and making India a member of Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) would be biased. In an interview to German Broadcasting Company, he said that Pakistan has played an unprecedented role in the war against terrorism for the world peace but the world has left Pakistan alone. Lieutenant General Asim Bajwa said that the Kashmir dispute is the only reason for not having better relations with India. The DG ISPR said that India is a threat to Pakistan and making India a member of Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) would be discriminatory. He said that the ongoing military operation in the country's northwestern areas is targeting all militants, including the Haqqani Network. "The military has no preferences. We are targeting terrorists from all groups," Bajwa said. “The killing of Taliban Chief Mullah Akhtar Mansour has undermined the peace process,” he added. Lt Gen Asim Bajwa said that nothing could be said about talks with the new Taliban leadership but we are optimistic. The DG ISPR said that democracy is getting stronger in Pakistan and the support democracy needed is being provided by the Pakistan Army, adding that the consultations are being held on all important issues including national security.
