NEW YORK: Dr Maleeha Lodhi has assumed the charge as Pakistan’s first female ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations, reported 92 News. After assuming the charge, she said that Pakistan is cooperating to help the Afghan government initiate dialogue with Taliban for sustainable peace in Afghanistan. Dr Maleeha Lodhi said that Pakistan is firm on principled stance with regard to reforms in the Security Council. “Another key priority for Pakistan is to promote peace and stability in South Asia. This involves addressing the issue of Kashmir and the present fraught border situation with India,” she maintained.
