NEW YORK (92 News) – UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has said that former Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Dr Maleeha Lodhi had played a key role in improving the credibility of Pakistan through her performance and experience. “Maleeha presented the Pakistani stance on each topic and forum,” he said, During her farewell meeting, she apprised UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres of the latest situation in Occupied Kashmir. “Pakistan always talks about resolving the problems through dialogues and peaceful way,” he said. She said that Prime Minister Imran Khan is playing his role to end tension between Saudi Arabia and Iran. Dr Maleeha Lodhi also exchanged views about the Afghan peace talks. She thanked the UN secretary general for his statement of August 8 and subsequently on the situation in Indian Occupied Kashmir. She also thanked the UN Secretary General for close cooperation that the Pakistan Mission in New York had with him and his office during her tenure. October 13, Outgoing Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to UN Maleeha Lodhi had said that UN’s decolonization agenda would remain incomplete without a settlement of Kashmir issue based on Security Council resolutions. Speaking to the General Assembly’s Special Political and Decolonization (Fourth) Committee, Maleeha Lodhi said India illegally annexed Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, turning it into the world’s largest prison. Maleeha Lodhi said Pakistan will remain the voice of Kashmiris in all international forums especially the UN until justice is done and they are able to exercise their right to self-determination. It was Maleeha Lodhi’s third statement on Kashmir at the UN this week as she pressed on with her campaign to expose Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir.
