Man suffocated as multi-storey building catches fire in Karachi

KARACHI (92 News) - A man was suffocated while several fainted when a multi-storey building caught fire near Jail Chowrangi on Wednesday.

The man had stuck in the store due to the fire.

Rescuers found the body and handed over to his relatives. Goods worth millions of rupees were gutted due to fire. As many as 10 fire tenders took part in the operation. Pakistan Navy and Rangers personnel assisted in the operation.

Assistant Commissioner East Asma Batool told the media that the fire was contained from reaching the residential area. She said that residents were rescued safely.

However, the reason behind the fire could not be ascertained.
