Man throws five kids into canal after quarrel with wife

PATTOKI (92 News) – A man threw his five children into BS Link Canal after a quarrel with his wife in Pattoki on Saturday.

The Rescue 1122 officials have recovered the bodies of two children. The drowned kids included seven-year-old Nadia, five-year-old Zain, four-year-old Fiza, three-year-old Tasha and one-year-old Ahmed.

A heavy contingent of police led by Kasur DPO Imran Kishwar and DSP Muhammad Ikram Khan reached the spot and arrested the accused.

Efforts are going on to fish out the bodies. The Phoolnagar police have arrested 42-year-old Ibrahim. Kasur DPO Imran Kishwar said that the reason behind the quarrel between the couple was poverty.

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has taken notice of the tragic incident and sought a report from the Lahore commissioner, deputy commissioner and the DPO.
