Maqbool Siddiqui attends PM-led meeting regarding Sindh projects

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) Convener Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui on Thursday attended a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan to review progress on Sindh projects. According to the details garnered, PTI, MQM-P reconcile after Khalid Maqbool attended the meeting on Sindh related projects. PM Khan expressed satisfaction over MQM-P convener’s presence. The prime minister chaired a meeting to review progress on federal funded projects in the Sindh province. The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar, MQM-P leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and concerned secretaries. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that they had held talks on their demands and hope for a positive outcome soon.
MQM-P denies rejoining cabinet
The MQM-P’s spokesperson denied the reports of withdrawing his resignation or rejoining the cabinet. He said that he had not taken back his resignation. The spokesperson said that Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui had a meeting with Asad Umar on fulfillment of the promises made with the party at the time of joining the federal coalition government. “Prime Minister Imran Khan came to attend the meeting at the end,” the party said. Earlier, the MQM-P convener tendered his resignation from the post of federal minister for information and sent his resignation to Prime Minister Imran Khan for approval. The minister had dispatched his resignation to the Prime Minister’s House for seeking approval. Khalid Maqbool has requested the prime minister to immediately accept his resignation. It is pertinent to mention here that the reservations between the federal government and MQM-P could yet not be resolved. The announcement was made in a press conference held by the party in Karachi. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that he was resigning from his post as minister for information technology. “We had supported [PTI] in forming the government. We are not taking back our cooperation,” he added. “We had promised the government that we would help in forming the government and we have fulfilled the promise. None of our promises were fulfilled,” Khalid Maqbool maintained. “It is becoming increasingly difficult for me to remain a part of the federal cabinet. My sitting in Cabinet has been raising questions,” he added.
