ISLAMABAD (92 News) – National Command and Operation Centre Chairman Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar said that the markets will remain open from 10am to 8pm.

Briefing the media after a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday, he said that markets would remain closed for two days in a week; however, the provinces would decide about the days.

The minister said that indoor dining would be banned in restaurants from August 3 to August 31, while takeaway will continue round-the-clock.

He added that public transport capacity will be reduced to 50 percent.

Asad Umar endorsed the restrictions imposed by the Sindh government. “We have made all decisions with the approval of Prime Minister Imran Khan. We are also going to impose restrictions in some cities of Azad Kashmir along with Islamabad,” he added.

He said that only vaccinated people had been allowed indoor dining, which was not being implemented. “We have not only to care for the health of the people but also look after the daily wagers,” he added.

The decisions will be applied to Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad and Multan.

The Sindh government has already imposed the lockdown until August 8. All main markets are completely closed, while ration and vegetable shops can be opened till 6pm. However, medical stores and milk shops are exempted from the ban.
