ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Lieutenant Arslan Alam, who was martyred in cross border terrorist attack from Afghanistan in recently cleared Rajgal Valley, was laid to rest with full military honor in native village in Murree. The funeral prayer of martyred Lieutenant Arslan Alam was held in his native village in Murree. Large number of military officials including Corps Commander Rawalpindi Lieutenant General Nadeem Raza, GOC Murree Major General Azhar Abbas, Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Rawalpindi Israr Abbasi and area residents attended the funeral prayer of Lt Arslan Alam. Corps Commander Rawalpindi Lieutenant General Nadeem Raza also laid floral wreath on behalf of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa. Earlier, an ISPR statement said that the attackers targeted the post on Saturday morning where post commander Lt Arsalan Alam was fatally shot. The army recently cleared the Rajgal Valley along the border in the Khyber tribal region and established a number of border posts to check cross-border movement. Militants who had sanctuaries in the valley and other adjoining tribal regions have escaped across the porous border. They often strike from inside Afghanistan to hit Pakistani forces.
