Martyred Lt Gen Sarfraz Ali, Maj Gen Amjad Hanif & Brig Khalid laid to rest with full military honours
QUETTA (92 News) - Funeral for martyred Lieutenant General Sarfraz Ali, Major General Amjad Hanif Shaheed and Brigadier Muhammad Khalid was held at Army Graveyard Rawalpindi on Wednesday.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Senate Chairman Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani, Federal Ministers, PM AJK, Foreign dignitaries and a large number of senior serving and retired military and civil officials and relatives of the martyrs attended the funeral.
The Pakistan Army contingent presented the guard of honour. COAS Qamar Bajwa presented the national flag to the relatives of the martyrs who were buried with full military honours at Army Graveyard.
Earlier, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa attended the funeral for martyred Lt Gen Sarfraz Ali and Brigadier Muhammad Khalid at Quetta Garrison.
Balochistan Governor Mir Jan Muhammad Jamali, Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, provincial ministers and a large number of civil and military officials, including relatives of martyrs attended the funeral.
Later, COAS visited families of Lt Gen Sarfraz Ali and Brig Muhammad Khalid who embraced martyrdom in Lasbela helicopter crash and family of martyred Lt Col Laiq Baig Mirza who embraced martyrdom at Ziarat.
The body of Lieutenant General Sarfraz Ali and Brigadier Muhammad Khalid have been moved to Rawalpindi. Funeral for martyred Lieutenant General Sarfraz Ali, Major General Amjad Hanif and Brigadier Muhammad khalid will be offered at Army Graveyard Rawalpindi at 5:30pm today.
Meanwhile, funeral for martyred Major Talha Manan, Major Saeed and Naik Mudassar Fayyaz was offered at their native towns. Funeral for Major Talha Shaheed was offered at Rawalpindi. Chief of General Staff Pakistan Army Lieutenant General Azhar Abbas, Lieutenant General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Commander Rawalpindi Corps, senior serving and retired military officials, relative of the martyrs and people from all walks of life attended the funeral.
The Pakistan Army contingent presented the guard of honour. The martyr was buried with full military honours. The Commander Rawalpindi Corps presented nation flag to martyr's father. Floral wreaths were laid on the grave of the martyrs.
Funeral for Naik Mudassar Fayyaz was offered at Shakargarh, Narowal.
The General Officer Commanding Sialkot Garrison, senior military and civil officials including DPO and DC Narowal attended the funeral. The Pakistan Army contingent presented the guard of honour. A national flag was presented to his heirs and floral wreaths were laid.
Funeral for Maj Saeed was offered at Larkana. Commander Logistics Pannu Aqil Garrison, serving senior officers, soldiers, relatives of the martyrs and a large number of people from civil society attended the funeral. A national flag was presented to the martyr's father. Later, the martyr was buried with full military honours.
