ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Funeral prayers of Pakistan Navy SSG, Muhammad Abbas Khan, who embraced shahadat while valiantly fighting the terrorists during counter terrorism operation at PC Gawadar, were held at Karachi and his burial rites were held at native town, Haripur. The funeral was attended by Sindh Governor Imran Ismail and the Pakistan Navy’s senior officers including Commander Coast, Commander Karachi, Commander Pakistan Fleet and Commander Logistics at Karachi on 12 May 19. Later, the burial rites of Abbas Khan Shaheed of SSG (Navy), were held and the Shaheed was laid to rest with full military honours. A contingent of Pakistan Navy presented guard of honour to martyred Abbas Khan and floral wreath was placed on his grave on behalf of Chief of the Naval Staff. The senior officers from Naval Headquarters and Northern Command were also present at the occasion. Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi paid tribute to Shuhada. In his message to their families, he said that great sacrifices of Shuhada for national defence and counter terrorism in the country are highly praiseworthy. Besides Pakistan Navy senior officials and men, personnel of sister services, relatives and a large number of people also attended the funeral and the burial rites.

The Senior Superintendents Police (SSP) of Badin and Tando Muhammad Khan, along with thousands of people, attended the last rites of martyrs – Bilal Lashari and Zahoor Lashari. The two guards embraced martyrdom during an exchange of fire with the terrorists. On Saturday, a security guard was martyred in firing of three terrorists who attempted forced entry into the five star Pearl Continental (PC) Hotel in the southwestern port city of Gwadar. “Three terrorists attempted forced entry in PC Gwadar. Guard at entry challenged them. Terrorists opened fire on PC security guard who embraced Shahadat (martyrdom),” the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said. The ISPR confirmed that the security forces have cordoned off the area and guests have been safely evacuated. “Terrorists encircled by security forces are in a staircase leading to top floor and cleared the hotel during operation,” it said. According to the reports, the gunshots were heard as terrorists entered in private hotel. Heavy contingents of police and security forces soon reached the area and started an operation.
