Maryam moves LHC for bail in Chaudhry Sugar Mills case
LAHORE (92 News) – Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz on Thursday filed bail plea in Lahore High Court (LHC) in Chaudhry Sugar Mills case. The petition was filed by filed by Amjad Pervez and Azam Nazeer. In the petition Maryam has pleaded with the court to release her on bail as her father is unwell and undergoing medical treatment at Lahore’s Services Hospital. Maryam also adopted a stance that she has to take care of her farther and her presence with ailing father is necessary. She also requested the court to approve her bail in Chaudhry Sugar Mills case. “The NAB has arrested me by violating the law as my all properties and assets are declared, she has stated in her bail plea and claimed that she is being politically victimized,” the plead states. The court issued notices to National Accountability Court (NAB) officials and summoned a reply over the case. Earlier in the morning, PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz was shifted to Kot Lakhpat Jail in strict security after being discharged from the Lahore’s Services Hospital on Thursday early morning. Maryam Nawaz who came to Services Hospital to inquire the health of her ailing father Nawaz Sharif was admitted to the same hospital after deteriorating on Wednesday. She had been admitted to VVIP ll, while her father was under treatment in VVIP-l. After meeting her father, she expressed her concern over the health of Nawaz Sharif. Prior to her meeting with Nawaz Sharif, she met the doctors. She was brought to hospital from jail amid tight security. Maryam Nawaz underwent several tests, including CBC, in hospital. She was given special permission by the federal government to see her ailing father at the hospital. Earlier, an accountability court in Lahore rejected Maryam Nawaz’s request to be granted an hour to meet her father in the hospital. The PML-N vice president made the request during court proceedings in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case.
