LAHORE (92 News) – Maryam Nawaz has filed a petition in the Lahore High Court (LHC) seeking permission to meet her father twice a week in jail. In the petition, she contended that her father is suffering from multiple diseases, including heart. The Punjab government has been made the party in the case. She stated that the Punjab Home Department had allowed them to meet them once a week, which is illegal as her father is suffering from multiple diseases. Maryam Nawaz said that a ban had been imposed on workers and parliamentarians to meet Nawaz Sharif. “Such restrictions by the jail authorities are illegal and unconstitutional,” she stated. She appealed to court to fix two days in a week for meeting Nawaz Sharif. Meanwhile, several family members and PML-N lawmakers met Nawaz Sharif in jail. Talking to the media outside jail, PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif said that PM Imran Khan was using cheap means as he was fearful of the opposition. “But we will counter him.” Former premier Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that over 40 MPs and senators had met Nawaz Sharif in jail. “Today the ‘selected government is at the helm. Rana Sanaullah is a courageous man and he will face each difficulty,” he said. PML-N leader Khawaja Asif said that the government wants to sever Nawaz Sharif’s connection with the world.
