Maryam Nawaz cannot even become a councilor, says Zartaj Gul

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Minister of State for Climate Change Zartaj Gul has claimed that the PML-N itself responsible for its fall and now Maryam Nawaz cannot even become a councilor.

Addressing a news conference along with Parliamentary Secretary on Planning, Development and Reform Kanwal Shauzab, the state minister said that Bashir Memon did not say anything when he was working in the institution. She said the past rulers plundered national wealth and made assets abroad.

Zartaj Gul said that the government is focusing on its development agenda for the welfare of the people, despite opposition's negative propaganda. She also said that the PTI government has launched multiple initiatives like Ehsas Program, health card, shelter homes and Kamyab Jawan Program to uplift the weaker segment of the society.

Speaking on the occasion, Kanwal Shauzab said that if anyone made illegal cases, they would be seen in the era of PML-N. She also said that the government believes in rule of law and independence of institutions. She dispelled the impression of political victimization of opponents.

She said a legal notice has been sent to former DG FIA Bashir Memon for casting aspersions on Adviser on Accountability and Interior Mirza Shahzad Akbar.
