Maryam Nawaz declares PP-38 Sialkot by-election as 'selection'

LAHORE (92 News) – PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz on Thursday has declared PP-38 Sialkot by-election as ‘selection’.

In a tweet, Maryam Nawaz said that the reality will be exposed in next General Elections. "PML-N has high hopes and that vote will get its respect," he added.

The reaction came after PTI candidate Ahsan Saleem Baryar won the PP-38 Sialkot by-election and beat PML-N's Tariq Subhani with heavy margin.

According to unofficial results, PTI's Baryar received 62,657 from 165 polling stations, while PML-N's Subhani was able to secure 56,353 votes.

Although eight candidates were in the race, the real competition was between the PTI and PML-N candidates.

During polling, five people were arrested for displaying weapons and violating Section 144 in the constituency, a police spokesperson said.

Officials arrested Rizwan, Asim, Saleem Zafar, Rukhsar, and Ali Najam, while they also recovered weapons and several rounds from them, the spokesperson said.
