LAHORE (92 News) – Maryam Nawaz, daughter of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, has denied that the family decided that she should be leading the party, saying that the statement has wrongly been ascribed to her and there never has been any such decision. In a tweet, she said that Nawaz Sharif is and Insha'Allah will be leading the PML-N. “I am not even an aspirant. I am happy to be working as PML-N worker.” She also thanked the people on extending her beautiful and heart-touching wishes and prayers on her birthday. “Your affection means a lot to me. God bless.” Earlier, a New York Times report stated that the 44-year-old defacto political heir of the Sharif family made the statement it was her family’s decision that she takes charge of the party. In the same vein, the publication said that Maryam did not elaborate whether she aspires to be a prime minister in future.
